Wendy Guilder’s back garden
A St Albans sitting terrace with a circular patio, curved paths and a raised bed behind a brick wall.

Wendy Guilder’s garden in St Albans was designed as somewhere to sit, not only somewhere to look at. The patio includes a circular feature for a table, curved paths, stepping stones set into the lawn, and a raised bed behind a feature brick wall.
The before photograph is the familiar mid-job view: a lawn, a pile of timber, and the house still waiting on its garden. The after is the same elevation with the circle of paving in, the ivy kept on the side wall, and pots brought up to the doors.
It is a garden to be used.
Service: Low maintenance garden design. Town: St Albans.
